Learning & Reflecting about Memorial Day – Students will read an article about the origins of Memorial Day, complete comprehension questions, and reflect on the freedoms that they are thankful for.
Memorial Day Vocabulary – Students have a variety of activities to complete using a set of Memorial Day related words. These activities include ABC order, sentence writing (using 5 or 10 words – choose the best one for your students), story writing, acrostic poem writing, and a crossword puzzle. Separate recording sheets are provided for each activity.
Memorial Day Fact & Opinion – Students will read several statement cards and decide if the statement is a fact or an opinion. A recording sheet is provided to have students show their work.
Making Words – – Students use the letters from the words “Memorial Day” to create as many 3, 4, 5, or 6-letter words as they can. A recording sheet is provided to have students show their work.
