This podcast is the place for busy teachers who want actionable tips, simple strategies, and just want to enjoy their job more. Let's go.
Hey there, welcome to another episode of The Classroom Commute Podcast. Ten months out of the year on this podcast, The Classroom Commute Podcast works perfectly because you do likely have a commute on your ride into school each morning. Of course, 2020 and the first half of 2021 has changed our commute drastically as many teachers likely have their commute from their bedroom to their kitchen table since they're teaching virtually, but on a normal year my guess is that your commute is likely 10, 15, 20 minutes or so to get yourself to school. That's why I've designed this podcast to have these short bite sized episodes that you can consume and enjoy from start to finish on your ride into school. However, the other two months of the year, our commutes likely drop off altogether because we're on summer vacation, which is great! We love that! That's a great perk of being a teacher. I thought that this summer I'd have a little fun with you. Instead of commuting with you on your ride into school, I thought, let's take a summer road trip together. Why not, right? Here's what I've planned.
If you're like most teachers, your favorite podcasts, TV shows, and Netflix library, they all start to pile up because, well, life, right? We get busy. We miss an episode or two or ten, and we fall behind. The beauty of being a teacher is that most of our schedules become a little more relaxed, a little more chill in the summertime. We have a chance to catch up, travel, and enjoy all things summer. I want to help you catch up or maybe even revisit some of the past episodes here on the podcast that you might have missed over the course of the school year. If you're just finding this podcast, it'll be a great way to get you up to speed. Here's what's going to happen. Each week we will be "road tripping" to a new destination together. Think destinations like reading rodeo or classroom management mountain. Queue all the corny alliteration here. Ha! And with each destination, I'll be putting together our playlist for our road trip that week. The playlist will consist of a few episodes that all fit into a certain theme so that you can binge listen to some of the past episodes here on the podcast. To make things even more fun, because a road trip without fun is not worth going on, there will be souvenirs to collect along the way as well, a.k.a. freebies and giveaways.
